About MCC Foundation
The MCC Foundation is the charitable arm of the Marylebone Cricket Club at Lord’s. Our mission is to transform lives through cricket. Across the UK we run a network of 126 Hubs, providing free-to-access coaching and match play to more than 4,700 state-educated cricketers. Around 700 of these players attend Hubs in London.
Our Hubs empower promising boys and girls from under-served communities to develop their skills, join cricket clubs and access the talent pathways. The programme not only helps our beneficiaries to improve their cricketing skills, but also to support their mental and physical wellbeing and to enhance their life skills.
We work with partners to provide life-transforming opportunities through cricket and to open up access to the game. We harness the transformative power of cricket and the MCC brand to provide hope and opportunity, and to encourage personal development and positive social change.
We support programmes in Nepal, Lebanon (for Syrian refugees), Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Sri Lanka, and South Africa (for young women from Townships).
The Lord Mayor of Westminster, Cllr Robert Rigby, said:
“One of my key themes for the Mayoral year will be getting our young people fit and engaged with sport. I can think of no better partner than the Marylebone Cricket Club Foundation, which does an amazing job introducing girls and boys to the game. Cricket is for everyone, and the MCC Foundation works in communities where young people might not perhaps have thought of trying it. The Foundation’s free coaching sessions and matches are a great introduction and I hope will uncover a new generation of star cricketers.
“I can’t claim any great cricket prowess myself – other than a genuine love for the game and as a scorer – but together with the MCC Foundation, I plan to play my part in helping to hit community cricket for six!”
