Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’ve decided to start a personal challenge, a year after being diagnosed with Myeloma on 11th January 2023.
It’s now my turn to try and raise some money towards the only dedicated charity for Myeloma, MyelomaUk, which supports every stage of Myeloma and funds vital Myeloma research.
I am going to challenge myself to cycle 10 miles plus a day over 52 days, which is the total of how many days I received treatment at Boston Hospital and days spent in Nottingham City Hospital.
Just to give you an idea, at any one time there are around 24,000 people living with myeloma in the UK. It accounts for 15 per cent of blood cancers, and two per cent of all cancers. Myeloma mainly affects those over the age of 65, however it has been diagnosed in people much younger. Please see below link to the website for this national charity based out of Edinburgh. Please see below their website for more information about this Cancer and the amazing work this charity does.
