Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for Maggie's where I am raising funds as part of the Tesco Bank charity of the year. Maggie's has over 25 years of experience providing free cancer support and information in centres across the UK. Built in the grounds of NHS cancer hospitals, the centres are warm and welcoming, and are run by expert staff who help people live well with cancer.

These vital funds raised by Tesco Bank colleagues will help Maggie's provide free practical and emotional support to anyone who visits them. Raising just £22 could pay for one visit to a Maggies centre, so someone with cancer can get expert psychological, practical, and financial support for free, from the moment they are diagnosed.

The Maratona is 138km and has 4230m of climbing with 7 mountains in the Dolomites to be overcome, including the famous Passo Giau. With 11 weeks to go before the event I have a long way to go and will need to lose about 9kg in weight and prepare to drag my non-climber's frame over a load of Italian mountains!
