Sam's NC500 Ride in memory of David for Mind

Cycling Scotland's NC500 in 7 days · 7 June 2024
In October 2020, David, my younger brother suffered a major stroke. This left him with permanent mental and physical difficulties which devastated him. He unfortunately succumbed 12 months later. This ride is in his memory
On 7th June 2024, along with my elder Brother Chris, I will be cycling the entirety of Scotland's NC500 over 7 days. That's approx 120km and 1000 meters of climbing each day. Day 1 includes the brutal Bealach na Ba aka the Applecross pass. (excuses time... In case you're thinking this will be easy for me - I've spent the past 5 weeks injured or ill!)
Mental health was always something David cared about. For that reason I'm raising in aid of Mind - the mental health charity.
To give you some figures from mind themselves:
we responded to over 119,000 people seeking information and support from our helplines.
- our mental health information was accessed over 18 million times in 2020/2021.
- £8 could help us to answer another enquiry on out Infoline
- £20 can help produce another 167 booklets about mental health.
- £50 could help keep our online peer support community, Side by Side, open for another hour.
