During the course of 90 minutes, 30 people in the UK will develop dementia.

My lovely Mum was one of them. She was diagnosed with mixed dementia in 2016, and passed away five years later. I was her carer, and I know from personal experience what a cruel disease this is and how exhausting, heartbreaking and overwhelming it can be for carers.

Dementia UK believe that every family affected by this devastating condition should have the support of a specialist dementia nurse – but right now, they can’t reach everyone who needs them.

That's where Fans vs Dementia comes in. Throughout the 2024/25 season I'll be taking part in a series of football based walks and events to raise money for Dementia UK, ensuring that no one has to face dementia alone.
