My son Gavin died at 28 years of age because of a pulmonary embolism. A doctor diagnosed a sprained shoulder and never considered PE/DVT.

Jackie's daughter Jayne died at 26 years of age because of a pulmonary embolism. A doctor never considered PE/DVT because she was "too young".

Both deaths could have been avoided, if only doctors considered that PE/DVT's can occur at ANY age.

My, our lives have changed onto a path I/we may not have chosen. Raising awareness of blood clots has become my mountain. Try not to feel anger or sadness for too long about the loss of life. Find the joy in preventing needless loss of life. Please learn about and raise awareness of Thrombosis UK.
