David's fundraiser for Care of Police Survivors

David Wright is raising money for Care of Police Survivors

100 miles in a day · 25 January 2026

The Virtual Police Unity Tour is back! This event sees cyclists ride 100 miles in the month of January to raise funds for Care of Police Survivors (COPS). Walkers, runners and swimmers are also welcome to take on the challenge in their own way.

Story

COPS provides peer support opportunities and access to counselling services to help surviving family members (‘survivors’) rebuild their shattered lives.

"Your loss is a part of who you are but COPS helps you realise that it doesn’t define you. We are all one big family."

Since its foundation in 2003, COPS has helped hundreds of police families devastated by the loss of a loved one who died on duty.

Whilst COPS has a large cycling event in summer they have asked volunteers to help raise funds at this quiet time of year by undertaking 100 miles of any form of activity (running/walking/cycling etc) during January whilst raising the modest target they have set of £50.00p.

In an attempt to garnish more support I have decided to attempt this more of a challenge by undertaking this in one day. To that end I hope this encourages anyone reading this to support my efforts and maybe raise a little more than the £50.00p target they have set.

If you do support this challenge please accept my thanks on COPS behalf and especially the families this will help.

Thank you

David
