Story
My name is David, and I will be taking part in a walk with my friends at Rowan House during Learning Disability Week.
There are around 1.5 million people in the UK with a learning disability, including me and many of my friends. To recognise this, we are organising our own "One Big Walk" at Rowan House as part of Learning Disability Week.
By walking together, we want to celebrate our community, raise awareness, and show that people with a learning disability have so much to contribute. Everyone deserves the opportunity to live a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life, with the support, inclusion, and respect they need to thrive.
I will be taking part alongside my friends, with the wonderful support of the team at Rowan House, who will be encouraging and supporting us throughout the walk. Their commitment helps make activities like this possible and supports us to take part, achieve our goals, and be active members of our community.
We are proud to be supporting Mencap's One Big Walk campaign, and we would be grateful for any donation you can make.
Your support will help create a world where people with a learning disability are valued, included, and empowered to live the lives they choose.
Thank you for supporting me, my friends, and the team at Rowan House as we walk together for this important cause.
