David's fundraiser for Parkinson’s UK

David Williams is raising money for Parkinson’s UK
In memory of Peter Williams, my Dad

Cycling from Manchester to Kent - 400 kilometres

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

In 2019 I lost my Dad which is sad in itself.

What hurt more was seeing him lose his battle against Parkinson’s Disease.

He was diagnosed with the disease in 2009 and he fought as hard as he could against it, living his life to the full but eventually his condition worsened.

The last year or so was heart-breaking; to see a man of great stature, energy, life and laughter slowly slip away as this cruel degenerative disease took hold. Anyone who has unfortunately seen a loved suffer from Parkinson's will know what I mean.

Since he passed away, I have been fundraising for Parkinson’s UK and so far have raised over £9, 000

This year, I’ve set myself a target to raise £4, 000 and therefore decided to cycle from my home in Manchester to Kent where my Mum lives and the home where I was brought up.
