Davie's fundraiser for Children's Cancer North

Davie Jones is raising money for Children's Cancer North
In memory of Ivy Elizabeth Wood

Ironman 70.3 Weymouth · 14 September 2025

We are here to make life better for children with cancer. For as long as families in the North East and Cumbria are affected by childhood cancer, we will invest in revolutionary research to find cures and kinder treatments and ensure those directly affected get the support they need.

Story

I am undertaking an Ironman 70.3 in Weymouth 14/09/25 and donating to the children's cancer north charity. Seeing my very close family friends world turn upside down when Ivy was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called neuroblastoma.

Ivy had to endure countless visits to hospitals and a range of treatment. Her journey lasted 344 days in total. She fought with grit, determination, resilience and strength to the very end.

Ivy sadly lost her battle at the age of 9 on the 21/01/2025

All donations are appreciated as it’s going to an excellent cause

Thanks

Children's Cancer North is dedicated to making life better for children with cancer across the North East and Cumbria. Around 100 children from across the region are newly diagnosed with cancer every year and come to the Great North Children's Hospital in Newcastle for their treatment. Children's Cancer North aims to improve their quality of life through transforming the environment and play experience on the wards, providing access to potentially life saving clinical trials and funding revolutionary research to find more effective treatments.
