Stepping Into Silence for Samuel's Charity

On 2 October, I'll be embarking on one of the biggest challenges of my life - a 10-day Vipassana meditation course. For someone who runs two businesses and is constantly connected to clients and the outside world, this represents a complete leap into the unknown.

The Challenge:

10 days of complete silence with no interaction or acknowledgement of others

4 am wake-up calls every day

No books, pens, phones, or technology of any kind

No contact with my businesses or clients - meaning two weeks without income

As the owner of Dawn Griffith-Therapy, where I help people overcome anxiety, trauma and addiction using therapies like hypnotherapy, TFT and NLP, I'm used to being the one providing support. Now I'm pushing myself completely outside my comfort zone to support a cause that's incredibly close to my heart.

Why Samuel's Charity?

I've been supporting Samuel's Charity for the past three years, and I've had the privilege of knowing Martin, Samuel's father, personally. I've witnessed firsthand the incredible dedication he shows in creating positive change, and I've seen this charity grow from strength to strength.

Samuel's Charity was born from a 9-year-old boy's dying wish - to make hospital experiences better for other children facing what he had to endure. The charity transforms the experience of children in long-term hospital care by providing recreational equipment, pain relief tools, Wi-Fi access, games consoles, and sensory equipment. They work to make frightening treatments less scary and help seriously ill children feel loved, special and supported during the most difficult times of their lives.

Every pound raised goes directly toward making a child's hospital stay more bearable, their treatment less frightening, and their days brighter. In a time when children's wards are underfunded, this work is more vital than ever.
