Supporting Al's Pals Through 10 Days of Silent Meditation
On 1 October, I'll be embarking on one of the most challenging experiences of my life—a 10-day Vipassana meditation retreat. This means 10 days of complete silence, no communication with the outside world, no books, no technology, and daily wake-ups at 4:00 AM. As someone who runs two businesses, this represents not just a personal challenge that pushes me completely out of my comfort zone, but also two weeks without income and the ability to respond to clients.
I'm using this significant personal challenge as an opportunity to raise funds for Al's Pals.
Why Al's Pals Matters
Al's Pals provides vital emotional, befriending, and advocacy support to cancer patients, their families, and support groups across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, and Northamptonshire. They're there when people need them most - in hospitals, in homes, and in the community - offering the kind of compassionate support that can make all the difference during one of life's most difficult journeys.
Their work ensures that no one facing cancer has to do so alone.
The Challenge
While I sit in silence for 10 days, dedicating myself to mindfulness and self-reflection, I'll be thinking about the difference your donations can make. This Course represents stepping completely outside my comfort zone - much like the courage shown by those facing cancer and their families every day.
Every pound donated will go directly to Al's Pals to help them continue their essential work providing comfort, advocacy, and friendship to those who need it most.
Please help me turn this personal challenge into support for an incredible cause. Together, we can ensure Al's Pals continues to be there for cancer patients and their families when they need it most.
This challenge begins on 2 October 2024. Thank you for your support.
