My mam and I entered the Westlands family June 2023.

We were broken with the loss of my dad and mams husband of 62 years. The care team which includes everyone who works in the home regardless of job role embraced mam and me.

The care given enabled mam to stop being frightened and to open up and be herself. She started to laugh more and enjoy what quality of life she had in her condition.

Mam earned herself 2 wicked nicknames 1.Sassy Pants and 2. Fun Sponge both well deserved I may add.

I will be eternally grateful for the outpouring of affection given to mam and me on her passing on June 25th. Without their unrelenting support during the last week of mams life I would have been lost. Me and mine are indebted to you guys ❤️

Westlands it is a charity run organisation and residents benefit from this tenfold. This is not about making money for the wealthy it’s about care in the community.

The activities the team put on are excellent and it is my ambition to provide as much support as I can for these wonderful residents to enjoy as much as possible.

A bit about Westlands care home in Rugby, it has been providing care to older people and people living with dementia for over 30 years. As a charity, they provide a home to people who are socially funded as well as people who can pay for their own care.

The charity's ambition is that every day for residents will be well lived, and as part of this they work hard to keep residents connected to their community and the things they enjoyed doing before they moved into the home - be that visiting local places or enjoying a pastime or hobby.

Westlands use their residents' fund to provide a range of activities and opportunities for residents, bringing fun, laughter and life to everyone.
