This year marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day. The momentous operation of June 1944, which saw the brave men and women of Britain and its allies begin the liberation of Europe. 1944 also saw desperate actions being fought in the Far East, all of which hastened the end of the awful struggle of the Second World War. The Royal British Legion continues to care for the veterans and their families of the Second World War and many others from the many conflicts which have been fought since. Dawn and George hope to honour and commemorate the fallen and our brave veterans by completing the Bristol 10K in distinctive costumes. Dawn will be dressed as a giant Poppy and George will complete the distance wearing authentic Second World War uniform and equipment.
