Story
My dad David Hart, better known as Dave or Harty in and around Haslemere recently passed away after a long and difficult battle with esophageal cancer. His funeral will be at 1030 on March 5th at Guildford Crematorium then on to Shottermill Club afterwards
Dad always said he didn't want any flowers at his funeral apart from the ones he'd already planned for himself. Dads wishes were that instead of flowers donations should be made to a charity that was very close to his heart, that was so like dad always thinking of others
Going to the Hunter Centre was the absolute highlight of dads week where he could sing and join in with so many different activities each week in a safe and happy environment
Sadly there wasn't much dad remembered in his last few weeks due the the alzheimer's stealing him away, but his ability to remember song lyrics from the 60's never left him and he often got up to sing to everyone at the Hunter Centre
The staff and volunteers are amazing and really understand the difficulties of living with dementia, not just from the patient's point of view but also the families by way of a wonderful support group
I can't sing my praises highly enough for the Hunter Centre and how much they helped us as a family over the past four years
