Dawsongroup's fundraiser for Willen Hospice

MK to Paris Cycle Challenge September 2024 · 12 September 2024
We sadly lost our very dear colleague Scott Neill to cancer this year. Willen Hospice provided care and support to Scott when he and his family needed it the most.
In aid of his memory, John Fletcher, Nick Reynolds, and Dom Pennifold are taking on the four-day, 270-mile cycle challenge from Milton Keynes to Paris to raise much-needed funds for Willen Hospice.
Challenge details
On day one they’ll leave from the Hospice and work their way through the Chiltern Hills and picturesque Berkshire countryside to Woking. After an overnight here they’ll continue their journey to Newhaven, where they’ll catch the ferry across to Dieppe, before spending two days edging their way ever closer to the iconic Eiffel Tower and a victory dance!
They’ll have the opportunity to experience magnificent English countryside and picturesque French rural landscapes, all from their saddles! The route comprises a mixture of on-road and traffic-free sections, running primarily on quieter rural roads, with some busier sections as they arrive into Paris. The terrain throughout the challenge is relatively flat with some rolling hills that make the ride challenging but very much accessible to everyone!
About Willen Hospice:
Willen Hospice’s care touches thousands of local people every year.
We give comfort, ease pain and reduce anxiety for patients and their loved ones. Every pound given makes a difference - as it enables us to do more for more people across Milton Keynes when and where they need us. We receive less than a quarter of our funding from the NHS, which means the rest is donated or fundraised for by amazing local people. Which is why your support is so important and so appreciated – from everyone we help, thank you.
