Cancer Research for my half marathon run on Aug 13 in Solihull

My name is Daz Chahal

Last year my brother had an infection on his spine called Transverse Myelitis which left him paralysed waist down. We had no idea if he would get better at that time, but after spending 5 months in hospital plus 2 months in rehab, he was sent home to recover. 1 year on and he’s made a full recovery and is back at work.

During this difficult time which affected the whole family. I made a promise that if he recovered, I would raise money for a charity by running a half marathon. So I’ve decided to run the Solihull Half Marathon 13miles (22km)

Now for those who know me understand that 13 miles is going to be a challenge but I’ve set a time of 2.5hrs. With your support I will be motivated to knock off each mile one at a time.

After speaking to my brother we decided that we would raise money for Cancer Research In memory of our Mother who passed away in 2016 and our Brother who passed away last year.

1 in 2 people will develop some form of cancer during their lifetime so it’s important we make efforts to help with the research. It’s possible that the money we raise today may not benefit us however it may help our children or grandchildren.
