Story
This year I will be running the Great North Run for East Durham Veterans Trust. I normally race in events as a private entry, running for me; however this year I have decided to run for what is a great cause in my local community. I have seen the great work East Durham Veterans have done for vets in the area, providing help, camaraderie and support when local vets need it most.
Please dig deep into your pockets and help this local charity:
"East Durham Veterans Trust is a veterans mental health charity that supports veterans and their families.
We support veterans and their families in a number of areas but mainly in the mental health, social inclusion and support with the transition from military to civilian life.
We have supported just over 900 veterans and family members within this time and our counselling service is one of the best in the region for veterans and their families. In 2023 the mental health service was rated at 4.97 out of 5 from the people who accessed the service.
The support we get off the community allows us to continue to do what we do in this way,all funds that are raised stay in our region and support our veterans and their families".
