Story
I’m fundraising for Positively UK, a charity that has been a lifeline for me.
While living in Taiwan, I contracted HIV and developed a great amount of shame and stigma around my diagnosis. For the first four years I had to keep it a secret in order to keep my job, arrange secret medical appointments, and fly expensive medication in from abroad; all of this left me feeling ashamed of my diagnosis.
When I returned to the UK in 2018, the John Mann clinic helped me heal and connected me with Positively UK. They guided me on my journey toward acceptance and happiness, and now I want to give back.
I’m thrilled to be running and raising money for Positively UK, a charity that does incredible work supporting people living with HIV. Any donation, big or small, will make a huge difference. Thank you so much for your support!
Positively UK is ran for and by people living with HIV. At Positively UK they provide peer-led support, advocacy and information to those living with HIV to effectively manage any aspect of their diagnosis, care and life with HIV.
