adidas Manchester Marathon 2026 · 19 April 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Every year, Cornwall Air Ambulance is tasked to around 1,000 missions, delivering fast and effective critical care to patients in their moment of need. As a charity, we need your help to raise over £9 million each year to keep the helicopter flying and the critical care team ready to respond

Story

Why I’m Running the Manchester Marathon and Why I’m Supporting Cornwall Air Ambulance?

Running a marathon is a huge challenge for me, and being lucky enough to get a ballot place felt like a sign to do something meaningful with it. So I thought: why not try to raise a few pounds for a cause that genuinely matters to me?

🚁 Why Cornwall Air Ambulance?

Cornwall Air Ambulance relies almost entirely on donations. Every mission, every rescue, every life saved is powered by the generosity of the community. Supporting them feels like directly contributing to someone’s survival — and that hits home for me, especially because I spend so much time outdoors in rural Cornwall.

Cornwall is beautiful, but it’s also remote. With rugged coastline, scattered villages, and heavy seasonal tourism, getting urgent medical help to the right place at the right time can be incredibly difficult. The air ambulance bridges that gap. It reaches places a road ambulance simply can’t.

A family day out, a surf session, a coastal walk — accidents don’t discriminate. Supporting the air ambulance is a way of looking after our neighbours, our visitors, and our own families.

If my marathon effort can help keep this lifesaving service in the air, then every mile will be worth it.
