Story
Hi everyone, I (mostly) ran the Rob Burrows Marathon in Leeds. I completed it in 5hrs 22mins. I know most people ask from donations before a marathon, but it was a personal challenge for me so I didn't. However, it was hilly, it was hot and it was hard, plus it required 6-months of training! I think that is enough for me to say - give some money to a worthy cause!
Burniston Village Hall have a project to upgrade all the facilities in the playing fields at the village hall. We need to build an orchard, resurface the tennis courts and also build a skate park. We have completed phase one, (the orchard) and phase two are the tennis courts. We will be resurfacing some courts and adding a multi-use games area (muga) plus a space for parents to sit while their kids are playing. Phase 2 will cost around £40k.
I am vice-chair of Active Burniston & Cloughton a youth club with over 40 children attending each month. The goal of the club is to engage kids of all ages, interests and personalities, keep them active and give them a place to express themselves. The addition of these facilities will create a hub for members and non-members to congregate in a safe environment for many years to come.
I ask that you make a donation of any amount to support this.
Many thanks,
Dean
