Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust are a charity that provides a free 24/7 life-saving service by helicopters and rapid response vehicles in the hours of darkness.

Their aim is to save lives, reduce or prevent disability, or suffering from critical illness and injury, by delivering a first class pre-hospital emergency medical service to the people of Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas.

EHAAT exist solely because of generous people like you who donate, play their lottery, visit their shops, and volunteer!

To help this worthy cause, we have volunteered to compete in 'Strictly Air Ambulance' - a version of Strictly Come Dancing. Much like the TV show, as a contestant and someone who is not a dancer, I, (Dean), will learn two different dance routines, each of a different style, with Elise, my professional dance partner. These will be performed at the fundraising event in March 2026.

For me, it's going to be an interesting challenge which fills me with mixed emotions. The excitement of taking on the challenge and learning something new, great pride in helping this amazing charity, and the palpable fear of walking out on the dancefloor in front of hundreds of people on the night, which is way out of my comfort zone!! I know I will be petrified, but it is for such a great cause!!

Thankfully, I have been partnered with Elise of The Chelmsford Dance Centre, who I am assured is a very good dancer and teacher ( She'll need to be!! :). I look forward to learning how to dance!
