Story
Since joining Burnley FC, I have loved every minute of working for the club. The sense of togetherness within the club and the local community is something truly special, and I want to give back by taking on a year-long running challenge to raise money for Burnley FC in the Community.
Throughout the year, I’ll be running multiple events ranging from 5km to marathons to local races to support the incredible work the club does for people in the area. Every donation will go directly towards funding important community projects that make a real difference.
The first challenge will be running the Big Half on the 7th September 2025. Then Warrington half marathon on the 21st September 2025, then a week later on the 28th September the Robin Hood Half Marathon or a 10 mile race then a week later the Chester marathon on the 5th October 2025 then a week later the Manchester Half Marathon on 12th October 2025. To make this harder I will be aiming to run all the half marathons under 1hour 30 mins and then the goal of running the marathon under 3 hours. More challenges will follow.
The town of Burnley is ranked as the 11th most deprived area in England, and Burnley FC in the Community believe in the immense power of the football club to transform people’s lives for the better.
The charity delivers over 50 community projects across the communities of Burnley, Pendle, Rossendale, the Ribble Valley and West Yorkshire, supporting those who need it most, all age groups, ranging from pre-schoolers through to senior citizens.
This year, we are challenging businesses to raise much-needed funds, with the aim of raising £1000 over 12 months for the charity.
All funds raised will go towards providing essential services and support, in all corners of the community, including:
- Education
- Mental health and wellbeing services
- Disability sport
- Dementia cafes
- Cancer rehabilitation
- Employability
- Youth development
- Veteran support
....and much more!
Thank you for your support!
