Help Me Empower Young People In Nepal Through Debate

Humna Murad is raising money for Debate Mate

Teaching Debate To Children in Nepal · 24 July 2025

Debate Mate is an educational charity that develops key 21st century skills including communication, core confidence and leadership in some of the UK's most disadvantaged areas. This is taught through the medium of debating, delivered by top university mentors in after-school clubs.

Story

This summer, I'll be volunteering in Nepal with Debate Mate, delivering communication and leadership training to over 700 students across Kathmandu, Pokhara, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Lalitpur, and Kavrepalanchowk.

These students attend schools that charge just £1 a month, and this programme offers them opportunities they might not otherwise have - to speak confidently, think critically, and dream bigger.

It costs just £15 to put a student through the programme. I'm raising £1,550 to help cover programme delivery, transport, and accommodation.

Every donation, big or small, makes a lasting difference.

Thank you for helping make it happen.
