Spring Into Action: 35 Challenge for Lupus UK

Debbie Kinsey is raising money for LUPUS UK

Spring into Action for Lupus UK

Spring into Action this April & May! Walk, run, cycle, wheel, swim, or donate £35 - your way, at your pace. Every Mile and £1 donated helps us raise vital funds to support those living with this often invisible and life-changing condition.

Story

This spring, I am supporting Lupus UK by taking part in their Spring into Action: 35 Challenge in May!

My Spring into Action challenge will be a "Move in May" - some kind of movement, every day in May.

Health conditions can make being consistent in challenges feel difficult - I usually either push myself to my own detriment or have to give up & feel crap about it. But not this time! This is about practicing what I preach and *moving* every day in response to how well I am or whatever else is going on, rather than rigidly sticking to an arbitrary exercise. Some days that means lifting weights or a long walk; other days that means a very chill 2-minute stretch from bed. Even chores without "extra" exercise count if that's what the health day brings - hoovering is mov(er)ing!

I don't have lupus myself, but the fatigue & pain that can challenge me are also two of many symptoms people with lupus experience. Lupus is an autoimmune condition that can impact any organ of the body and anyone at any age. Lupus UK do incredible work to directly support people affected by the condition, as well as to try to make change in the healthcare system & support research so that everyone with lupus can live well, no matter where they live in the UK. I am so proud to work for this charity, and am in awe of the passion and work of my colleagues every day.

If you feel able, please do send a donation - every £1 counts in helping us make a difference to people with lupus (or join me in a moving day, whether for you that means a 5K run or 5-minute walk!).
