Story
Life came to an abrupt halt in August 2022 when Sally discovered she had a malignant growth in her leg and was diagnosed with Chondrosarcoma – a rare type of bone cancer. The pain in her thigh that had become increasingly worse over the months was caused by a 20cm tumour growing in the bone.
"Life changed overnight for me and my family. I didn't realise how much I took for granted. I was extremely fortunate that my GP sent me for an x-ray when she did. Raising awareness of symptoms is so important to ensure GPs refer patients for x-rays and scans. Early diagnosis and treatment is vital to make sure patients have more treatment options and better outcome".
I have been involved in raising money for Sally’s Unstoppable Journey for the last few years and am continuing to do so by challenging myself to run my first half marathon~ The Great North Run 2025!
So please if you can, donate to this cause and cheer me on!
