On Saturday 15th August Debbie, Simon, Charlotte and Oscar are taking part in the Across the Bridges Sponsored Walk, a memorable 10 mile fundraising event beginning at Putney Bridge and following the River Thames across seven iconic London bridges before finishing at Westminster Bridge. Every step taken will help raise vital funds to extend our Putney facility and create a state-of-the-art 12-bed reablement centre. This new service will provide essential short-term support for older people who are isolated or vulnerable following discharge from hospital, helping them regain independence and confidence before returning home or making longer-term care decisions. By offering rehabilitation and support in a safe environment, the centre will help reduce hospital bed blocking and provide individuals and families with greater choice and time when considering future care home options. Together, we can make a real difference in improving outcomes for older people in our community while enjoying a rewarding walk through some of London’s most famous landmarks.
