I am walking to raise much needed funds for PAPYRUS - in memory of my daughter’s friend Darcy and Izzy’s boyfriend Taylor Besgrove, who tragically took his own life just 3 months after Darcy, aged 21 years old

Turning Pain into Purpose – In Memory of Darcy Hollinson 💜

In April 2021, our beautiful daughter Darcy took her own life at just 17 years old. The loss of our precious girl has been devastating – like an atomic bomb shattering our world in an instant. The grief is immeasurable. It's a pain that is so gut-wrenchingly profound. Our lives will never be like they were when our Darcy was here with us – nothing can ever fill the space she has left.

And yet, heartbreakingly, we know we are not alone. Too many families feel this anguish. No family should ever have to endure losing a child to suicide.

Right now, there are far too many young lives struggling in the darkness, being lost to suicide. On average, around five young people take their lives each day.

We MUST change that.

On 25th May 2025, we will walk 22 miles along Drake’s Trail (Tavistock to Plymouth) to mark the year that should have been Darcy’s 22nd birthday. This Memory Walk is not just a tribute to our daughter – it’s a call to action. A fight for those still here. A promise that hope will never be out of reach.

We are raising £22,000 for PAPYRUS, the national charity dedicated to preventing young suicide. PAPYRUS provides HOPELINE247, a life-saving helpline offering urgent support to young people in crisis.
