Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Matt and I have arranged to each do a tandem skydive at Skydive GB Parachute Club near Bridlington, to raise much needed funds for this amazing local charity which provides hospice and community care covering 1,600 square miles of North and East Yorkshire, covering both Whitby and Scarborough.
We have been inspired to challenge ourselves by my brother John’s ongoing fight against cancer. John is now into his second year of treatment having had chemotherapy and radiotherapy last year and now facing chemotherapy again. Never once has he lost his sense of humour or positive outlook.
John and his partner Gill continue to fight this battle with positivity and determination second to none, while the rest of us look on helplessly from the sidelines. If willpower and determination alone could beat cancer, then John would have been cured many months ago.
We decided if we can’t physically do anything to support John then let’s raise money to support those who provide care and support for people suffering from similar illnesses.
We hope that people who know us and John will agree this is a worthy cause and donate what they can.
Alternatively, I’m not fussy, if people want to donate to pay for the pleasure of knowing my terror doing something so far out of my comfort zone, then I’m good with that too.
All funds donated will go to St Catherine’s.
Thank you,
Deb and Matt Beeforth
