Story
Growing up in Hong Kong, I was a water baby - never out of the water for more than a few hours - whether the sea, splashing in a pool or training at our local club.
Between the ages of 8 and 11, I competed in the Hong Kong mantas against teams from Japan, Thailand, Philippines, Hawaii and California. As an adult swimming in lakes and the sea in the UK has been a delight. So, when a friend from Hong Kong suggested we swim the length of Lake Coniston - a distance of 5.25 miles - it was a resounding yes! The excitement of taking on a challenge that truly matters is exhilarating!
I am thrilled to announce that I will be swimming 5.25 miles in the upcoming "Chillswim: Coniston 2026" event on June 20, 2026, to raise funds for Level Water – a remarkable charity dedicated to giving children with disabilities the opportunity to learn how to swim. I know how much swimming means to disabled children. My cousin has been confined to a wheelchair all her life and there is nothing like being able to float around in the water and allow her limbs to move and stretch to ease some discomfort. Charities like this made it possible for her to experience the joy of swimming.
Every £15 you donate will fund one life-changing lesson, opening doors for these incredible children and allowing them to have the wonderful opportunity to swim. This cause is close to my heart, and your support means everything. Together, we can make a significant impact in their lives.
If this resonates with you, I encourage you not to wait! Join me to help create waves of change. Let’s make a splash for a brilliant cause!
