In memory of Kenneth Allan
Dementia is the loss of cognitive functioning — thinking, remembering, and reasoning — to such an extent that it interferes with a person's daily life and activities. Help support the University's research to find new treatments and therapies.

Story

Kenneth was a proud Scotsman, husband, father, grandfather, friend and neighbour. He travelled the world for work and for pleasure, and enjoyed life to the full.

Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with dementia in his mid 70’s and it slowly took hold and began eroding his memory, recognition and understanding.

One thing it did not take was his sense of adventure and his enjoyment of singing.

Please remember him at his best and support research into this heartbreaking disease.

Thankyou for any donation you choose to make in his name.

Dementia is the loss of cognitive functioning — thinking, remembering, and reasoning — to such an extent that it interferes with a person's daily life and activities. Some people with dementia cannot control their emotions, and their personalities may change. Help support the University's research to find new treatments and therapies.

Researchers at the University of Plymouth are leading the way in making dementia as a global priority. An estimated 850,000 people in the UK are currently living with this devastating illness, a figure which is set to double in the next 30 years. The University of Plymouth is leading research into how we can improve the quality of life for those living with dementia.
