Story
To raise our funds for our Beacon Uganda trip, we are taking part in a back to basics sponsored event.
We will start our journey in the Essex town of Saffron Walden, where we will purchase our food supplies before trekking 10 miles through the Essex and Cambridgeshire wilderness to Camps End, Cambridgeshire. We will gather wood for our camp fire and cook our food, before making our shelters for a night under the stars. Assuming we make it through the night, despite the hungry foxes, badgers, deer, owls, red kites and buzzards, we will then make our way to Linton Free Church to share in the morning service at 10.30am.
More about our trip:
We will be travelling to Uganda in late July with a team organised by Beacon, and returning in August. Whilst in Uganda, we will be working at the Early Learning Primary School in Entebbe, supporting lessons and organising activities. We have also been raising funds to support the purchase of new play equipment at the school. Our visit to Uganda will end with a safari at Murchison Falls.
The Early Learning School is a school supported by Kickstart Coffee, a Cambridge-based business organisation and charity, that provides funding for the school through buying coffee beans in Uganda and selling the roasted beans to customers in the UK. Hannah Nunn, founder of Kickstart Coffee, will be joining the project with us in the summer.
I would greatly appreciate you sponsoring us in this event.
Thanks,
Debs Yau (on behalf of Caleb)
