For many of the 28 years I taught at Hill Elementary in Austin ISD, Austin Jazz Workshop (AJW) shared their musical gifts with our students and staff. Hearing live jazz music is always a treat. Experiencing a performance with hundreds of enthusiastic children is simply magical.

It is an honor to serve on the board of AJW and to support the continued work of this organization by raising funds on GivingTuesday 2023. The mission of Austin Jazz Workshop is to encourage youth participation in school music programs through campus and public jazz performances, bring the American Jazz heritage into underserved communities, and promote a vibrant cultural arts environment by employing local musicians of diverse ages, origins, and ethnicities.

As an educator, I have witnessed the impact of AJW's school initiatives on my students and music programs in Austin ISD and beyond. To show my commitment to this cause, I will match the first $500 raised on this page to double your donation.
