Story

The Bath Rugby Foundation is the independent charitable arm of Bath Rugby. Its core mission is to empower vulnerable children and young people in Bath and the surrounding area to succeed, regardless of their background or the challenges they face.
While Bath is often seen as a wealthy city, it contains some of the most deprived neighborhoods in the UK. The Foundation exists to bridge that gap. At Deceuninck, we are fundraising to support their work in four key areas:
+1
1. Education & Alternative Learning
Not every child thrives in a traditional classroom. The Foundation runs an Alternative Learning Hub for 14–16 year olds who have disengaged from mainstream school.
+1
The Goal: To re-engage them through a mix of sports-based learning and functional skills.
The Impact: Helping students gain qualifications and preventing them from falling out of the system.
2. Inclusion (Sport for All)
The Foundation is a leader in inclusive sport, ensuring that physical or learning disabilities aren't a barrier to being part of a team.
Key Programs: The Hi5! Social Clubs and Mixed Ability Rugby (like the Foundation Cup happening this May 2026) provide safe spaces for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The Impact: Breaking down social isolation and building physical confidence.
3. Employability (The "Advantage" Program)
For young people aged 16–25 who are "NEET" (Not in Education, Employment, or Training), the Foundation provides a pathway to work.
What they do: Provide CV workshops, interview prep, and hands-on work experience (recent programs in 2026 even included carpentry and trade skills).
The Impact: Moving young adults into stable careers and long-term independence.
4. Health & Wellbeing
The Foundation tackles "holiday hunger" and physical inactivity.
What they do: They provide thousands of free, nutritious meals during school holidays and deliver over 2,500 hours of physical activity annually across the community.
The Impact: Ensuring no child’s potential is limited by hunger or poor health.
The "Deceuninck" Connection
We have chosen to support this charity because their values mirror our own: Teamwork, Discipline, and Respect.
By supporting our fundraiser, you aren't just donating to a "rugby club"—you are funding mentors, teachers, and coaches who are on the ground in places like Twerton and Whiteway, making sure every local child has a fair start in life.
"Every young person deserves a fair start in life,
