As a Mum I cant bear to see babies and children suffer... how can anyone? At the moment over 1 million people in Gaza do not have access to food or clean water... & so many need medical help.

I watched Dr Michael Ryan, Emergencies Director @ WHO emotional speech the other day and it made me cry... and then I felt compelled to do something- I dont want to be complicit. I feel so upset and guilty that babies are suffering and the world and indeed the media, a world in which I work in, doesn't seem to care. Please watch this short video:

This is not about religion or politics for me- this is about humanity. Why should babies and young children starve? Its inhumane... in Dr Mike Ryan words ' its an 'abomination'

Between 15th May and 15th June I will be doing a challenge to raise money for Medicine San Frontier. Im going to run 107 KMs ( covering the distance between the West Bank and Gaza) Its around 3.5 kms a day- which doesn't seem a lot but it all adds up!

I hate feeling helpless so this is my way of taking action.

Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is the world's leading medical humanitarian aid organisation.

They provide emergency assistance to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics and natural or man-made disasters, without discrimination and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.

They currently have over 900 staff members in Gaza and 250 in the West Bank. The majority of their Gaza team are Palestinian and many have now lost homes or family members in the violence. 12 doctors and medical staff have died trying to save others.
