Why I’m walking 100km of the Camino de Santiago
In April, I’ll be walking more than 100 kilometres of the Camino de Santiago as part of ABTA LifeLine’s G Trek for Good. It will be challenging, occasionally uncomfortable, and absolutely worth it.
I’m doing this because as Chair of ABTA LifeLine I’ve seen, at close quarters, the difference this charity makes when people in our industry need help the most.
LifeLine supports travel colleagues facing crisis: illness, mental health struggles, bereavement or sudden financial hardship. These are things that can affect any of us, often without warning. When they do, LifeLine is there with practical, emotional and financial support.
Thanks to the generosity of friends and colleagues, I’ve been able to raise funds for LifeLine before, including climbing Mount Toubkal and tackling Snowdon. Your support has already helped real people through very difficult times and I’m incredibly grateful.
Alongside around 50 brilliant people from across the travel industry, I’ll be walking 100+ kilometres across northern Spain to help raise £50,000 for ABTA LifeLine and Planeterra. Since 2018, the annual trek has raised over £140,000 but the need for LifeLine’s support has never gone away.
My ask is simple...
If you can donate, please do. If you’ve supported me before, I’m asking, once again, for your help. Any amount, large or small, will make a genuine difference and help ensure that when someone in our industry is struggling, they don’t have to face it alone.
Thank you for your support — it really does mean more than you know.
