Help Transform the Lives of Young People with Disabilities in Northern Uganda

Enhancing the Capacity of Persons with Disability, a UK registered charity, has partnered with Gulu Disabled Persons Union (GDPU) over the past eight years to transform the lives of over 580 young disabled people across Northern Uganda through vocational skills training, literacy, numeracy, business development and community engagement skills, personal development and ongoing support. GDPU’s Vocational Training Institute (VTI) is the first inclusive vocational training centre focused on disabled young persons in Northern Uganda.

This funding appeal is to improve and expand GDPU's VTI placing it on a sustainable footing and helping it to register as a national skills training centre for persons with disabilities.

Funding will build two new classroom blocks, a safer girl's dormitory, a community meeting room and more accessible toilet facilities and pathways, unlocking funding for 70 trainees per year.
