'Time for a Cuppa'
Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page. As a team, we are fundraising for Dementia UK as part of their 'Time for a Cuppa' campaign.
Working within the Mental Health Services For Older People (MHSOP) inpatient wards, at University Hospital Llandough, we see the devastating effects of dementia everyday.
Dementia is an umbrella term for a range of progressive conditions that affect the brain. Each type of dementia stops a person’s brain cells (neurones) working properly in specific areas, affecting their ability to remember, think and speak.
- Dementia UK
Dementia UK is an integral charity for those affected by dementia, providing both physical and emotional support to not only the individual, but their loved ones too. Dementia UK’s dementia specialist Admiral Nurses support people with dementia and their families and carers. They work in the community, in some GP practices and NHS hospitals, and in clinics. This is just one of many ways that the charity provide support.
As part of this campaign, our MHSOP service have decided to host a 'Time for a Cuppa' tea party on each of our inpatient wards, for our patients, staff and ward visitors. We have already received generous donations of baked goods from local businesses around Cardiff, such as Pettigrew Bakery, Asda, Teacups and Cupcakes, and Costco!
As ward visiting is restricted, we have created this page for anyone who would like to donate and unable attend the tea party!
