Story
Dementia Wellbeing East London (DWEL) is a service at St Joseph's Hospice that supports those with moderate-to-advanced dementia live better, more comfortable lives.
They are currently running music groups every month for their local people and their carers, encouraging people to attend for a morning of singing and dancing to their favourite songs.
I go along once a month to support the music group, where I sing and dance with the participants. It’s unbelievable how they know all the words to the songs.
It’s so wonderful to see people light up, smile, and sing along. Watching them sing and enjoying singing melts my heart. There is so much joy in the room. The best bit is that everyone leaves with a smile on their face, looking forward to the next session.
I’m raising funds to make sure this group can continue well into the future.
