Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am taking part in the Glasgow kilt walk to raise funds for The British Heart Foundation. i’ve always wanted to fundraise and do my part, but i never knew what charity to help but now british heart foundation is very close to my heart as on the 27th of May 2023, my Dad had sudden cardiac arrest.

27th of May was just like any other weekend, as a family we had went out toghther on the quad bikes but everything changed just after 5pm as my dad had fallen off his quad, we quickly realised my dad was not only unconscious but had a very weak pulse and wasn’t breathing on his own. we were very grateful to have had a number of people with us when this happened, my partner, auntie and a close family friend performed CPR while other rushed to phone 999 and collect a defibulater. once emergency services arrived they soon figured out dads fall was due to a heart attack which then led to a ventricular fibrillation cardiac arrest. Dad got taken by air ambulance to hospital where he was put on a life support machine and into a medical induced coma, he spent 2 weeks recovering in hospital, as he got a stent and ICD (internal cardiac defibrillator) fitted. Dad is better than he was on the 27th of May, but he won’t ever be fully better. He will always have us supporting him and my amazing mum caring for him.We will forever be grateful for the fast actions of the people around us that day and for the care from parademics and all nurses and doctors.
