Dendy Vickery is raising money for Forget me not Chorus
In memory of Enid Jennings

Cardiff Half Marathon 2026 · 4 October 2026 ·

Forget-me-not Chorus supports those living with and alongside dementia through the power of song. Inclusive singing sessions in community, care home, hospital, and online settings empower participants to use and share their voice: improving health, wellbeing, challenging stigma, and bringing joy.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

If any of you have friends, relatives or loved ones who are suffering with Alzheimer’s or dementia you know how difficult it can be to see their personalities change in front of your eyes. The physical body is present, but the person you know & love is slipping away. I experienced that with my dear Mum. However there was an hour of light that shone for her every week when she found the “Forget-me-not Chorus.”

An hour of singing old, familiar songs reinvigorated her and brought her joy and lucidity. That is why I have decided to WALK the Cardiff Half Marathon to raise money for “Forget-me-not Chorus “ a charity founded in 2011 by Kate Woolveridge and Sarah Teagle.

Even during Covid, they continued their work on zoom & where possible in care home gardens & car parks, in hospital settings, singing through the windows come rain or shine. They continue to bring joy to all that need them.

This charity relies on the generosity of its supporters. Any donations would be gratefully received . Please visit my just giving page & thank you for your kindness.
