Canary Wharf Group's Disability Equality Network fundraiser for Tower Project

Canary Wharf Group is raising money for Tower Project
The Tower Project is a community based voluntary sector organisation and award-winning leading service provider for children and adults with learning disabilities and autism. The aims of the Tower Project are to enable and empower people with disabilities. Your donation today will help both young people and adults with disabilities by offering further training, housing, care, jobs and education and employment opportunities to improve their quality of life. We have successfully delivered our wide range of services throughout London for many years and continue to develop new projects and innovative services for individuals with disabilities and autism.

Story

In the lead up to Learning Disability awareness week in June, CWG’s Disability Equality Network will be hosting the second of their fundraising walks between our London locations.

We have 50 places available on the walk, which will start at Jubilee Gardens next to Southbank Place and follow the Thames along to Jubilee Park in the heart of Canary Wharf. Offering a great opportunity to catch up with colleagues from across CWG whilst raising money for a brilliant local charity, and with a refreshment stop or two en route, the walk is suitable for all abilities whether you’re an ambler or marching with a mission.

Canary Wharf based colleagues will meet at the Thames Clipper Pier before sailing up the river to join Southbank participants for the walk back to Jubilee Park.

Following the walk, everyone’s invited to join the DEN team for a drink or two in Canada Square park before settling for our outdoor movie night watch party in front of the big screen.

Times:

• 2.00pm – 2.30pm – Meet at Canary Wharf Pier to catch 1432 Uber Boat to Embankment

• 3.15pm – Southbank meeting point/start of walk (Jubilee Gardens)

• 3.00pm – 6.00pm Walk, including refreshment stop(s)

• 6.00pm – 9.00pm Film & Social in Canada Square Park (optional)

Registration for the walk and/or film is by way of a donation to The Tower Project; a local charity that manage a range of supported living houses for people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and autism. In support of The Tower Project, we encourage our walkers to wear a splash of red.

If you would like to join, simply submit a donation to The Tower Project of £15 (or more) to join the walk, or £5 to join us for the film & social later in the evening.

Please be sure to check with your line manager before signing up.
