Jesse's fundraiser for Rhino Ark with team DeRanged Rovers

Jesse Wambugu is raising money for Rhino Ark

Rhino Charge 2025 · 31 May 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

Rhino Ark raises money for the building of electric eco-fences around mountain ecosystems in Kenya, namely Aberdare National Park, Mt. Kenya and Mau Eburu. These provide an "ark" for wildlife such as rhino, leopard, elephant and mountain bongo as well as protecting vital upland watertables of Kenya

🦏 Welcome to Team 51 – Home of the DeRanged Rover! 🏁

Jambo and Karibu!

Thanks for stopping by our page. Just a few clicks away, your generous donation will be on its way to supporting the incredible work of Rhino Ark—and you'll be helping protect one of Kenya’s water towers for generations to come.

Every bit helps... but a slightly bigger bit helps even more 😉.

So, what exactly is the Rhino Charge?

Picture this: a 4x4 vehicle, some of the toughest terrain in Africa, and a mission to reach as many checkpoints as possible—through bush, rivers, ravines, and sometimes even by flipping the car (on purpose... sort of!).

It’s not about speed. It’s about navigating the shortest distance between checkpoints in the wildest conditions imaginable.

No wonder Forbes called it the “World’s Most Extreme Offroad Challenge.”

But there’s a bigger purpose behind the mud, gears, and glory...

The Rhino Charge is a fundraising event in support of Rhino Ark, a Kenyan conservation charity that protects our country’s vital water towers and mountain ecosystems.

Since its founding, Rhino Ark has:

🌿 Built and maintained over 750 km of electric fencing

🏡 Protected more than 85,000 households from human-wildlife conflict

🌍 Preserved over 570,000 hectares of vital water catchment and forest areas

Our Story: Team DeRanged

Since 2008, the DeRanged Rover team has proudly raised over $200,000 for Rhino Ark. None of that would’ve been possible without the amazing support of people like you.

In the 2024 Charge, despite electrical issues that left us stranded for over 2 hours, we still made it to 8 of 13 checkpoints!

This year, we’re aiming even higher—with a fully rebuilt electrical system and a goal to hit the podium. 💪

🎯 Our fundraising target: to beat last year’s $13,000—and we know, with your help, we can.

📅 Mark the Date

The 2025 Rhino Charge will take place on 31st May at a top-secret location deep in the Kenyan bush. Team DeRanged is locked in and ready to roll!
