Story
Eeda and I are taking on the Paris Marathon together—and we’re doing it for a cause that means the world to us: Dementia UK. Our goal is to raise £4,000, and every step will be in honor of Eeda’s dad, Tony, and the countless families walking the same road we once did.
Helping care for Tony from a world away was complicated, confusing, and often overwhelming. Dementia UK stepped in when we needed it most—offering advice, connecting us with resources, and reminding us we weren’t alone. That lifeline is exactly what they provide for families across the UK every single day.
For Eeda, Paris is a dream marathon in her favorite city. And Derek? Well… he’s going to do his best to keep up. 🙂 With encouragement from our Parkrun friends in California and the Singapore Falcons Running Club back home, we’re determined to cross that finish line together.
Marathon training is tough, but it’s also joyful when we know we’re running for something bigger than ourselves. We’ve seen first-hand how much difference a listening ear and practical advice can make, and we want other families to have the same support we were lucky enough to receive.
That’s why we’re running: to back a charity that makes hard times a little easier. We’d love you to join us by supporting our fundraising. Every donation—pounds, dollars, euros, whatever you’ve got—keeps Dementia UK helping families who need them. Thank you for cheering us on. It means the world.
