This week I have a big birthday. I don't really need anything so I thought I could use this opportunity to try to raise some money for the Alzheimer's Society in what has been a difficult year for me.

As you are probably aware, my wife Maureen has this condition and has now moved into a care home where, thankfully, she has settled well.

Dementia, in all of it's forms, is now becoming more of a conversation topic. Obviously, the person that has it is at the heart of the matter but, as many of you may understand, it affects everyone connected to that person, whether friends or family.

On Maureen's journey, I cannot stress enough our gratitude for the help and support that the Alzheimer's Society has offered to us.

So, with your help, maybe we can assist them to help others that can benefit from their involvement.
