Story
Hi. We're riding in memory of Mark Lewis. In 2016 Mark organised a team of 40 riders to ride from London to Paris in aid of charity. Whilst on a training ride back then Mark had a devastating accident and suffered catastrophic injuries. The team decided to honour Mark by completing the ride and in July 2016 40 Riders set out for Paris. We were "Riding For Mark" We raised over £40000 in aid of Great Ormond Street, Mark's chosen charity.
Mark's accident occurred on a remote road in Wiltshire, and he was attended to by the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, who saved his life. Sadly Mark suffered a sever brain injury, and required ongoing one to one care. Mark sadly passed away in 2025, and the team have decided to Ride for him again.
We are marking the tenth anniversary of the first ride with another London to Paris bike ride. Obviously we're all 10 years older, so will be a little slower - but are determined to complete the ride in Marks honour.
This time we're raising money for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, who provide critical medical care by land and air, across Wiltshire and Bath. Their mission is to give people the best chance of survival. This relies on highly trained critical care paramedics and doctors supported by specialist medical equipment. Speed is our superpower. From their airbase in Semington, their helicopter can reach anywhere in Wiltshire within 11 minutes and be in the centre of Bath in just four minutes.
As a charity, we can’t do this vital work without the support of our local communities.
Your donations save lives.
In 2026 we're Riding for Mark again. Will you be with us?
Thanks for your support
