Heartbreakingly, our much loved Derek lost his life in 2023 to glioblastoma, an aggressive brain tumour that took away his future and the shared futures of those who loved him.

We are continuing to raise money for more research focusing on better treatments and possible cure, to stop this shocking disease being a death sentence.

All money raised will go to the Brain Tumour Research charity, who are dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK. In recognition of the research we fund (at a cost of around £2700 per day), a plaque in Derek's name will go onto the Walls of Hope at the BTR research centres.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.
