Playhouse Rebuild Fund
Campaign by Kimpton Players (RCN 265243)
Built in the 1960s, our Playhouse is vital for our charity to continue. The roof, has been deteriorating for a number of years now. Despite our best efforts and numerous repairs, it has come to the point where the building needs to be replaced.

Story

COMPLETED! Thank you for all your support. I finished my 220 mile charity ride Friday evening. The ride was along some stunning cycle ways and challenging hills. Some pics from the ride are attached. Thanks again for your support.

I am cycling from Kimpton, Hertfordshire to Haslingden, Lancashire.  This 220 miles solo cycle ride is to raise funds for the replacement Kimpton Players Playhouse.  If you would like to support me I would really appreciate it.

Kimpton Players is an amdram group and registered charity raising funds for local charities and good causes.  It was created in 1946.  The late great Eric Morecambe was a past president.

The Kimpton Players put on 3 productions a year including a Christmas Panto and an Old Time Music Hall.  Besides providing excellent entertainment it offers the opportunity for young people to develop their drama skills.

The Playhouse is used for rehearsals.  This 50 year old building has deteriorated and is now past economic repair.  We are raising funds to replace it with a modern insulated building to last at least another 50 years.

My journey north is over 4 days (26-29/9) with overnight stops in Market Harborough, Ashbourne and Macclesfield.  The first two days are 72 miles each.  The final 76 mile stretch through the Peak District/Pennines I am tackling over two days to avoid my wheels falling off...

Your support will help me to complete this challenge - especially the ride through the Pennines.

Thank you.
