Story
Charlotte and Pierre-Marc (PM) have self-funded a trip to Nepal to climb a 6800m mountain (Ama dablam) with the aim of developing an oxygen concentrator which doesn't require oxygen bottles. We hope to test the product by climbing this mountain in trial for testing the product in the elusive 'Death-Zone' of Everest in the next 2-3 years. The hope is to stop the countless Sherpa lives that are in danger, climbing Everest for tourist gain each year. The project will also promote sustainability in High Altitude mountaineering as there is a huge amount of O2 bottles scattered across the mountains.
If that project wasn’t mammoth enough… we have also each secured a place in the Berlin Marathon in September this year. We are hoping to run the marathon in a costume that will also allow us to be in with a chance of making us Guinness World Record Holders- why not go big if you’re going to do it right?!
As two service persons with a lot of respect for the Sherpa community, we decided that BLESMA was our choice of charity because of the countless Gurkha soldiers who have fought and lost limbs for the UK. We want to support them by raising money for BLESMA and also protect their way of life for their communities in Nepal.
Our fund raising target for this year is £2600. Thank you for your support.
