### Am I Crazy? Running the Wild Horse 200 for Dementia UK
Hello everyone,
You might be wondering, "Am I crazy?" Well, maybe a little! I am about to embark on the Wild Horse 200, the ultimate 200-mile ultra marathon in Wales. This life-changing adventure takes runners across the stunning trails and mountains of South Wales, along Offa’s Dyke, traversing the Beacons Way, and catching the Heart Of Wales Line before reaching the finish line at Worm’s Head on the Wales Coast Path.
We have up to 5 days to complete this epic journey, but I am hopeful that I won't need all of this time. This race is the toughest challenge I have ever faced, and I am feeling a mix of excitement and apprehension. But my motivation goes beyond personal achievement. I am running to raise funds for Dementia UK, a cause that is incredibly close to my heart.
Why support Dementia UK?
Every three minutes, someone in the UK develops dementia - it's one of the biggest health challenges of our time. Families affected are often left feeling exhausted and overwhelmed and don’t know where to turn. But with the support of an Admiral Nurse and Dementia UK, families facing the fear and confusion of dementia know they’re not alone. Dementia UK provides invaluable support to those affected, offering essential care and guidance to sufferers and their loved ones.
By supporting my journey in the Wild Horse 200, you are not only encouraging me to push my limits but also helping to raise vital funds for Dementia UK. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in the lives of those battling dementia.
My training has already started, and I will keep you updated each month on my progress. Thank you for your support and generosity. Together, we can make a meaningful impact. If you know someone suffering with dementia, please feel free to share this fundraising page with your friends and family.
Warm regards,
Des Stokes
